It may be the big, bright new hotels in Las Vegas that dominate the skyline, but there are still a few of the old ones that deliver a brilliant dose of Vegas history. One of the prime examples of that can be found at the north end of the Strip, which is where the almost 60-year old Riviera can be found.
The hotel is not short on history, but it also delivers truly modern dining, gaming, and entertainment experiences.
Big name headliners regularly appear at the hotel, while the Riviera Comedy Club is always available to deliver the laughs. For a little bit of adult entertainment, be sure to take in the topless show “Crazy Girls.” The ladies can also get in on the adult-themed fun by checking out “Men the Experience” in the Crazy Girls Theatre.
Over in the Starlite Theatre you’ll find “Pawn Shop Live!” which is a humorous parody of the “Pawn Stars” reality TV show. Fans of musical nostalgia will get a real kick out of the “Forever Doo Wop” and “Forever Motor City” shows, while thrilling acts of illusion are performed by German magician Jan Rouven.
One item that is unique to the Riviera is the only walk-up wagering window on the Strip. You will see it just as you step inside the front door, but you can also place other sports bets at the William Hill Race & Sports Book.
The casino floor is packed with all kinds of different table games, with blackjack, roulette, poker, and a host of others served. You will also find over 800 of the newest, most exciting slots and video poker machines on the casino floor.
There are plenty of places to eat should you decide to visit the Riviera. Great cuts of meat and fresh seafood can be found at R Steak & Seafood, while a menu made up from the best dishes in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand can be had at the Banana Leaf Asian Restaurant. A more casual dining affair is available at the Wicked Vicky Tavern, where a fantastic selection of craft beers and pub food can be combined in a very cool setting. There is also a great food court on the premises, with all kinds if fast food favorites waiting to be served.
For a unique experience, why not take some time to visit the Pinball Hall of Fame, where you will find machines that date all the way back to the 1960’s. Once you get done there, head over to the Casino lounge, where you will find live entertainment just about every night of the week.
The Riviera pool is a lushly landscaped area that is perfect for relaxing in. There is also plenty of shopping to be found in the resort, as well as a beauty salon, barber shop, and even a tattoo parlor. If you are heading to Vegas to tie the knot, you might want to consider choosing from the wide variety of services and packages on offer at the Riviera Royale Wedding Chapel.
All told, there are more than 2,075 rooms in the Riviera, as well as a massive convention space. All of that is on top of the high-quality amenities that we discussed throughout this piece. If you want a little taste of old Vegas, the Riviera is the place to do it.
